Who is Queen Bee on The Masked Singer? Clues and theories for the celebrity's identity

The Masked Singer has taken the UK by storm and the Queen Bee herself has become one of the most popular contestants - so who is she? And is she really from Girls Aloud?

The Masked Singer has been a complete hit in the UK with everyone tuning in to see which celebrities are hidden behind the bizarre masks each week.

And now, as we approach the final, the Queen Bee - who viewers think is either Nicola Roberts or Charlotte Church – has found herself to be the masked celebrity people love the most. But who is she? What clues do we have? And is she really from a girl band?

Here's all the theories and clues for who the Queen Bee really is:

  1. Who is Queen Bee?

    What songs has Queen Bee sung?

    She's stuck to mainstream pop for a few weeks with week one being Alive by Sia. She's also sang, Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi and Girl on Fire, Alicia Keys.

    Clues for the Queen Bee:

    - Some kind of child star or famous in her youth

    - A 'wildcard'

    - Had several accents, from American to Geordie to Scouse

    - The 'joker of the pack'

    - A 'lawmaker'.

    - Something of an activist

    - One of the following statements is true: She’s under 30/She’s well known in fashion circles/she’s not known for singing.

    Which celebrity is Queen Bee?

    There have been many theories with the most popular being Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud. Jesy Nelson has also been thrown into the mix along with Charlotte Church.

    - Butterfly (revealed as Patsy Palmer in episode 1)

    - Pharaoh (revealed as Alan Johnson in episode 2)

    - Chameleon (revealed as Justin Hawkins in episode 3)

    - Tree (revealed as Terry Sheringham in episode 4)

    - Daisy (revealed as Kelis in episode 5)

    - Octopus

    - Fox (revealed as Denise Van Outen)

    - Duck (revealed as Skin)

    - Queen Bee

    - Hedgehog

    - Unicorn (revealed as Jake Shears)

    - Monster (revealed as Ceelo Green)

  3. What is The Masked Singer?

    12 celebrities compete on the show anonymously, all wearing costumes, over 10 episodes.

    Each episode, some of the competitors are paired off into face-off competitions, where each will perform a song of their choice.

    From each face-off, the panelists and live audience vote. The winner is safe for the week, while the loser is put up for elimination.

    At the end of the episode, the losers of the face-offs are then put to the earlier votes of the panelists, to discover who will head home. The eliminated singer then takes off their mask to reveal their real identity.

    Hints are also given to each masked singer's identity during the show. The panelists are given time to guess the identity of the singer after the performance, and ask them a single question.

    In the US, the likes of Donny Osmond, Seal, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, and LaToya Jackson have taken part.

  4. Who will appear in the UK version and when does it start?

    Former I'm a Celebrity star Joel Dommett will host the UK version, which launched on ITV on Saturday, January 4 at 7pm.

    The four judges will be: Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall, and Ken Jeong from the US version.
